Halloween SAL Day 25 – Snow White

This version involved iron shoes, tongs, hot coals, and dancing until someone fell over dead. Not a pleasant version of the story we’re all pretty familiar with, this one is from the Brothers Grimm.

My cross stitch is coming along, and is nearing completion! I’m glad, it has been interesting but very difficult to keep up. I haven’t decided how I’ll finish the piece yet, but hopefully I get it hanging on the walls in time for Halloween.

Halloween SAL day 23 – The Exorcist

I’m not actually sure what a Ouija board has to do with The Exorcist, I remember the creepy girl but not much else about this movie when I watched it. I’m honestly not a big horror fan, so that’s no surprise. In any case, we’re getting close to the end!

Storybook Halloween SAL Update

Today’s cross stitch square was The Flying Dutchman, I really enjoyed how it turned out. Won’t be long until I’m finished and can then hang this up for the season! Considering it’s my first SAL I’m quite pleased with how it’s coming along.

Storybook Halloween SAL – Progress

I just finished the 7th block in my storybook halloween stitch-a-long and I’m pretty pleased with how it’s turning out so far. I am not exactly a huge fan of the original stitches so I’ve been adding a lot of my own customizations but I think in the end it will turn out pretty awesome.

Next on my list is to pick up some glow in the dark floss. I really think it’s so neat to watch the images glow! I’ve seen a few customized projects that others have posted on facebook and they’re just lovely. I’ve never worked with glow in the dark floss before, but I’m sure I can find some someplace.

Storybook Halloween Stitch a Long

Well, my frame ended up being one square too small in some places – and I was going to frog the entire thing and start over, but the idea of that was just so absurdly daunting that I decided that no one would be able to tell if I had to adjust a panel anyway, and I may as well just continue. Thus day one was The Black Cat, by Edgar Allan Poe, and day two is Jack Skellington. I’m looking forward to getting a little stitching done each day, and seeing how this project comes out in the end. I think it will be an adorable Halloween decoration to put up each year.

Halloween SAL – Update 5

I’ve been making some good progress on the SAL frame lately, I’m pretty confident that I can finish this before October, and if not I’ll at least be able to complete it as I work on each square during the month. I can’t believe October is so close already!

Halloween SAL – Update 4

In the end this will look like a book cover, but for now it’s just a bunch of lines and squares, hehe. I can’t wait to see what little scene is revealed each day of the SAL in October.
